» How does the booking process look like?
I usually open booking slots for the next two months, whenever I announce it on my social media (twitter & instagram). For example, when I open bookings at the beginning of March, the appointments will be for March and April. Custom design slots are very limited, to 2-3 slots per month! The booking form stays open for only a short time (max. 24 hours) before I close it and start answering the emails. Please check your spam for my reply!
For both flashes and custom designs, please fill out this booking form if you´re interested in booking with me.
Every flash design will only be sold ONCE, so once it´s taken, I won´t resell it to another person. Every design stays unique :) But you can book more than one design. You can see which designs are still available on my flash page here, I update that page frequently.
It´s mostly first come first serve.
If you get a booking slot, we can discuss an appointment date. I´ll send you an invoice for a non-refundable (!!!) deposit fee (50€ for flashes and 100€ for custom designs) as it´s mandatory to make the booking complete. The deposit is already included in the final price. Deposits can be made via bank transfer or PayPal. The rest can be preferrably paid with cash (other options would be immediate bank transfer, card or PayPal with extra fees).
» I live too far away from you. Can I still get the tattoo done at my place from another tattoo artist?
Unfortunately no, you can´t buy only the design and then get it done somewhere else. In my opinion a tattoo holds much more value (and quality) when it´s done by the tattoo artist themselves. They understand their work and designs the most, after all. I used to sell designs online in the past, when I just started out tattooing and saw some results that were very unsatisfactory to me - lineweight uneven, shading not done as in the original, way too small for the amount of details etc. That´s when I realized that I really should be the only one tattooing my designs in order for people to get the best results!
I hope that I´ll be able to travel around and tattoo people in many different places in the future though!
» How far ahead do you accept bookings? I want to book you but I live too far way and don´t know when I can visit you.
As stated above in the first question, I usually take appointments for the next two months. I do accept bookings farther in the future for people who live very far away, but who plan to visit sometime soon-ish. However, I still have to prioritize the clients who can come earlier - for example if two people send in a booking form for the same design and person 1 can visit in the designated time while person 2 is in the States and doesn´t know yet when they can come, then person 1 will be prioritized. I hope you understand!
» How much will it cost?
All my flash designs have a set price, which include the design cost and tattooing fee. I post the prices alongside with the flash designs. You can get a general idea of my prices if you look at my flash sheets here. Please keep in mind that the final price can still change depending on the placement. Some placements that will require an additional fee of 50€: ribs, neck, stomach, collarbone/chest, sternum (You don´t need to be 100% sure where to place the tattoo when you´re filling out the booking form, we can still figure it out together during the appointment. Just be aware of the added fee if you do decide on one of the mentioned placements in the end).
Custom designs require more time, which is why they cost more. An example: A custom flower design in black white with one additional color, 8cm big and placed on the left wrist. The design itself will cost ~300€ and the tattooing takes 2 hours, so the total fee will be around 500€-600€.
» I want to get a custom design/do you take tattoo commissions?
Custom slots are currently on hiatus due to time reasons.
Yes, but custom design slots are limited and I´ll only consider it if the idea fits my style. I want to only tattoo designs that I´m 100% happy with, so my flash designs are always preferred :)
I start drawing your custom design approx. one week prior to your appointment. You´ll get one sketch for checking, and the final design one day before the appointment day.
I currently don´t take tattoo commissions.
» What are your fanart design policies?
I only do fanart tattoos for limited series/manga/movies that I myself feel passionate about. Please be aware that I try to avoid doing full-face character designs, I prefer subtlety in my fanart designs that are rather a nod towards the characters, specific scenes or elements instead of being too obvious. Here´s a (probably incomplete) list of what I´d consider doing custom designs or even flashes for!

» Do you do cover-ups?
In general I´m open for it, but only if I think that it´s possible with my style. My designs are usually very detailed with fine lines, so they´re not ideal for big cover-ups. Please be aware that cover-ups cost more.
» Where´s your tattoo studio?
I´m based in Hamburg, Germany and currently work in my private studio, frogcircle.tattoo. We have a little print and merchandise shop there, too!
» Can I come by only for the merch/prints, even if I don´t have an appointment with you?
Sure, that´s possible! You just need to contact either me or kiuhopper to let us know when you´d like to come, since we´re not at the studio everyday.

» What are the Covid-19 safety requirements?
Regardless of the lifting of the mandatory face masks, if you feel more comfortable with us wearing masks during the appointment, feel free to let us know. You may bring one person to accompany you to the appointment.
» Can I bring gifts/snacks/drinks for you to the appointment?
Absolutely :) The only note would be that I´m plant-based!
